Born in Iowa City, IA in 1983, Amanda has been blessed in the arts throughout her life. Having recieved her first sketchbook at the age of six; she was rarely seen without it since. While in high school in Waynesville, NC, Amanda showed great promise in the arts when she won the state Federal Jr. Duckstamp three years in a row under the direction of her art teacher and accomplished artist William Eleazer. She was also selected to attend the Governor's School for Fine Arts her Sophomore year. Upon graduation she attended the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, in Philadelphia., renowned as the oldest and most prestigious fine art school in the nation. There she studied in the traditional style of the old masters. She now lives in Norfolk, VA where she actively pursues creation of original artworks, commissioned portraits and Web design. In her free time she enjoys being involved with her church, Faith Baptist out of Chesapeake, VA, spending time with her husband Andy, and playing with her cats Ivan"The Hairball", and Aerwyn (she's Welsh.) She also enjoys playing the French horn, running, and riding her bike. Amanda will be attending Old Dominion University in the Fall of 2008 to pursue a degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis on Zoology.
